Reviewed by COPPER: Butcher: A note before we start... the opinions expressed in this review, like all reviews, are not the official opinion of the MWC99 organisers. Our reviewers think, and write, what they will. Knights of the Apocalypse went with a large melee force, while the Knights of the Raven chose heavy thrall (wha?) and max dorfs. Both sides planned to rush middle (KotR ghol handler Mick had to be reminded to move ghols) which is the strat most used on this map / game combo. KOA outran KotR to the center with a few Styg handled by Destroyer leading the way. The Styg feigned attack enough to allow Fire in Cairo to get the KOA archers lined up on the hill. Within four minutes of taking the hill, KotR had lost 60% of their troops and were forced to retreat to their defense fort where their massive thrall forces tried to hold the last two flags from a plethera of Dorfs, Styg, and others to no avail. Props go out to Destroyer and Cairo from KOA, and noone from KotR were metionable.
Knights of the Apocalypse: 12 flags + win, 17 points. Back to Match Index | On to Game 2, Drowned Empire Flag Rally |
