Map: Drowned Empire
The numbers next to each player are [kills] : [losses], as displayed in the film of this game.
Reviewed by jiblet: Very similar unit trading on both sides could have made this a true test of tactical skill, however Mdd is screwed over even more than in the first 2 games by having to fight an e.i. squad of 3 times the number of players. I respect their honour for playing this match under such circumstances, because it really is suicidal to go up against one of the top rated teams with only 2 people. Both teams went with the usual max melee and max souls, Mdd however gets 18 thrall and 2 dwarves, while e.i. gets 3 dwarves and 6 ghols. Both teams rush hill immediately as is standard practice in this game. E.i. sends some flanks around the sides for a brutal pincer attack, showing that they indeed do know how to make good use of all those players. Mdd doesn't have enough manpower for any kind of fancy stuff, so they just rush hill. E.i's souls gain superiority immediately as they arrive slightly faster and in much more organized fashion. They immediately begin out-shooting Mdd's soulless who are forced to deal with a suicide dwarf that pushes their melee back, giving the stygs enough space to come and deal with the souls. Unfortunately for Mdd they never manage to get soulless away from stygs, and all die at their hands except for 1 who dies later anyway. Mdd's massive jug of melee still has dorf protection, and an interesting scenario breaks out as their jug attacks one of the bigger melee flanks (but still far smaller than Mdd's force which is still at max) who is now behind them. It looks like a dorf playground as BOTH forces have dwarves behind them, although Mdd looks far worse as the smaller melee force they are crushing is holdind them in between two of the ridges on hill where e.i's dwarves are closing fast for a quick end to this game. Both teams are able to detach units to deal with dwarves, so no blood is spilled yet... With the dwarves foiled, e.i's melee forces breaks and runs backwards, straight to Mdd's base. Mdd still had thrall there, but weren't quick enough to block e.i. on the bridge, which would have been a great victory, but perhaps useless with artillery. In the end Mdd is basically stuck on their home hill facing all of e.i's advancing horde. They are down to 1 ball which is right in the middle of them, and hilariously, two of e.i.s ghols come from opposite sides to steal ball for the quick tag, but they both kick it into each other and it squeezes out sideways into Mdd's melee, so e.i. must end the game the old-fashioned way. They slaughter everything and prepare for game 4.
