Honour satisfied equally so far with two games each, the match comes down to the final punch up.

And this time it is trow doing the handiwork.

Wolf Pack enjoy a northwest and southwest start, and choose to have a total of only two dwarves between them.

Madrigal Chamber of Commerce have one more dwarf, but both teams choose pretty much the same for melee and bowmen, and leave similar strength defensive squads on guard.

Suburban Trow, captain of the northeast MCC army, makes no delay in attacking the enemy statue to his upper left with his big metal guy and some smaller metallic guys commonly called Stygs.

The Wolf Pack strike force has run away north and is attempting to move across unseen at the top of the map on the opposing assassin target.

In consequence, when Suburban’s trow is joined very quickly at the Berzerk statue by the other allied MCC trow, there isn’t much Wolf Pack can do except watch as their brigands attempt to defend.

The WP dwarf is kicked into the oblivion, their brigands feebly wave blades around, and whilst one MCC bully falls to concentrated archer fire, the remaining MCC trow makes the most damning of artistic criticisms of the Wolf Pack’s sculpted Scotsman.

Sir Parson of WP, captaining the too distant northern strike squad can be heard to defend his tactics by saying; ` But it worked great in practice`, as his troops winced, froze and then faded from the map.

Regrouping, MCC advanced in force on the last of the WP targets, and the lonely dwarf on defence there got the same treatment as his cousin before him.

In go the MCC Stygs, half taking out the brigands, the remainder hacking the warrior statue to rubble and it’s all over.

With their final game Madrigal Chamber of Commerce take victory in a hard fought match, proving that at the last brute force can overcome a more refined method of attack.

One had the feeling that no ill will was felt by WP at this defeat, both teams coming away from the match with a firm respect for each other.

Against a different team, Wolf Pack may have found that their tactics would have worked admirably, and there is a probability that they still may go very far in MWC99.

As, to be certain, will the Madrigal Chamber of Commerce.
