"Ancrik, n. threat to all."
Ancrik was founded during the demo days of Myth:tfl. This makes Ancrik
the oldest order still actively participating in Myth. During it's
time, Ancrik has participated in basically every order tournament
(including those of closed registration) since the release of
Myth:tFL. Most notably among these tournaments (for Ancrik's
achievement, not for the tournament itself) are the Camelot Cup, in
which Ancrik placed 3rd, and the DC tournament, in which Ancrik
actually managed to defeat the Dwarven Cannibals - hosts of the
tournament.
54 people have bet on Ancrik to finish in the top ten teams of MWC99. (average place ranked from 1st - 10th: 7.0)
MWC99 Threat Assessment: Ancrik have been around for a long time, but have never really been
one of the more formidable orders, mostly because their membership
keeps cycling, or players drop out of sight. They shouldn't be
discounted for MWC99, but our analysts would be surprised to see them
in the finals.
QR Week 2: Ancrik defeat Infinite Republic in a fast-paced match, showing that the Criks aren't afraid to mix it up when they have to.
QR Week 3: Mage aren't really a severe threat, and Ancrik handle them as such.
DE Round 1: Ancrik kick off the first week of the Double Elimination ladder with a match against their old adversaries (in more ways than one...) the Geezers from Hell. Ancrik have been practicing since they faced the Geezers in MWC98, and it is time for the pupils to become the masters...
DE Round 2: Ancrik's nascent star continues its rise, and they face down the Dwarven Cannibals (reinforced by the itinerant Balefire) with some very nice play. On to Round Three and the fearsome Sabre Rummers... HAR!
