"Age before Youth, Skill and Beauty."
Originally founded as a collection of old folks who played the mac
game "Avara," the Geezers ottered onto the Myth landscape as an
unranked order of like-minded elderly folks. hrough sheer force of
habit, we've collected a number of players who enjoy chatting,
laughtering each other, and prune juice. GfH lost to the eventual
winner of the MWC '98 edition i the later rounds last year, and
describe the loss as : "We fell asleep. . . also, we were cold nd
hungry. . . and those teenagers were pestering us . . . who are you
anyway?. . . NURSE!" Geezers, during the 5% of our online time NOT
spent chatting, place an emphasis on fun, fair games.
17 people have bet on Geezers from Hell to finish in the top ten teams of MWC99. (average place ranked from 1st - 10th: 7.1)
MWC99 Threat Assessment: Although you might not think it to look at the collection of walking
frames and canes, the Geezers can be pretty nimble on the keyboard
when they have to be. A number of younger opponents found this
out to their peril in MWC98, and despite losing several players in the
intervening months, we expect the Geezers to do well in MWC99 also.
QR Week 1: A strong showing against torc proves our threat assessment of the Geezers to be close to the mark.
QR Week 2: Then again... the Geezers get a painful comeuppance from those young pirates on the team of the Sabre Rummers. One of the closer matchups in their pool pitches the Geezers against The Wight Foundation, a strong order that's been around almost as long. A few good wightings and nice tactics in the first game allow the Geezers to take the match out and secure a much-needed win.
QR Week 3: The Geezers finish off their Qualifying Round season with a nice win against Semper Fi, who just can't seem to get it together.
The Geezers come up against Ancrik in their first week in the Double Elimination ladder, and are outmanoeuvered at every turn, their wheelchairs spinning futilely on the splattered remains of their berserkers... some fine play in the DE games isn't quite enough to beat out Ancrik and they are relegated to the Bottom Bracket.
DE Round 3: David Eddings Order make the fatal mistake of underestimating the Geezers and get pulverised.
