[Review] Carry Your iBook With Style With The iBookBag From Dr. Bott
by Lisa Hamilton
iBookBag From Dr. Bott
Introduction
iBook owners are accustomed to color and style. With the iBook's shapely design, cool colors, and convenient carrying handle, owners may not want to hide them in a case. However, there are times when the iBook may need a little extra protection, and West Ridge Designs has the solution, the iBookBag.
[Editors Note: Dr. Bott added a new iBookBag design to their product lineup yesterday. The design we are reviewing today, as well as the new design. Dr. Bott tells us that there are still Tangering versions of this design available.]
Description
The iBookBag is a sturdy and stylish laptop case designed specifically for the iBook. It comes in graphite, lime and indigo, to coordinate with the iBook, and it has curved corners to compliment the iBook's curvy figure. The bag is compact, which makes it convenient to carry, but it may not be the best bag for people who like to carry their whole office around with them.
Putting It Through Its Paces
We have been testing the iBook bag for many months, and our bag has been used over and over again. During all that time it has held up well to all the abuse we could throw at it. It is well padded for protection, and the leather handle is a pleasure to hold. The shoulder strap has swivel snaps making it easy to remove and also keeping it from getting twisted.
The inside pockets are well designed to hold the iBook's power supply, an extra cable or two and maybe a couple of CDs. The front pocket is well organized for pens, notepads, a cell phone, etc. The back pocket holds a magazine or other papers, but it would be nice if the back pocket had a fastener to hold in and protect documents. The inside area could be used for documents, but we found it was difficult to put the iBook in and out of the case without crinkling inside papers.
Conclusion
The iBookBag is a practical and stylish investment for protecting your iBook. For the most part it is well designed, except for the lack of a protected pocket for documents. The materials and workmanship allow it to stand up to plenty of use.
