[9:00 AM] Exercise Your Mind And Explore The Castle In A New Contest From Blue Line Studios
by Staff

Getting blisters from playing Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament? Join the club, and consider a thinking man's game from Blue Line Studios, The Castle. Even better, Blue Line is giving away copies of The Castle in a new contest. According to Blue Line Studios:

5 CD-ROMs will be given away! Here is how it works: in the demo "Noemi's World" there is a hidden Easter egg. Note that the it is NOT in the "Castle Lite Edition".

The hunt for this Easter egg has opened today! Once you found it, enter the solution to participate in the giveaway contest using Blue Line Studios' online form at http://www.blueline-studios.com/casDown.html

This is also the location from where the Demos can be downloaded. Winners will be chosen randomly from all correct entries.

Please note that Blue Line Studios is unfortunately unable to communicate with the contest participants or provide hits or support.

What is an Easter egg? Easter eggs in computer programs have a tradition. Needless to say that they don't necessarily look like a real Easter eggs. A computer Easter egg can be anything: a dialog box popping up when entering a certain key combination or clicking a certain spot. It might be just a picture, an animation, a sound, you name it.

The programmer might have written the code for it because he was bored, to show off his talents and surprise people, or just for fun. The probably most famous Easter egg is the Finder's hidden About box.

The most important thing is that the Easter egg is a secret. However, sooner or later, some attentive user will stumble over it and from then on it will not be a secret anymore...

The Castle's is still intact, however...

For more information about the contest, and to try The Castle, head over to the Blue Line Studios web site.
