Casady & Greene have updated the wildly popular MP3 player, SoundJam MP, to version 2.01. The new version updates both the free and "Plus" versions of SoundJam. The new release includes a host of bug fixes and performance enhancements. According to Casady & Greene:
This maintenance release addresses issues in SoundJam MP Plus and Free v2.0. The improvements include significantly decreased CPU usage during playback, reduced distortion caused by equalizer pre-amp settings, elimination of pops and clicks during playback, enhanced CDDB lookup reliability, increased performance when adding large number of files to playlists and more.
SoundJam MP 2.0.1 Changes Include:
Substantially reduced CPU usage during playback.
Change the equalizer's "Auto" option to reduce overall equalization levels which eliminates distortion.
Improves performance when adding large numbers of files to playlists.
Improves reliability of CDDB lookup.
Eliminates pops and clicks during playback on some configurations.
Corrects equalizer pre-amp sensitivity which minimizes distortion during playback.
Fixes a problem which caused tracks for files on unmounted volumes to become permanently broken.
