[6:00 AM] Security And Privacy Software Updated
by Staff
MacZ Software has released an update to their system security and privacy product, FolderGuard 1.5. Folder Guard allows users to keep a list of folders which are hidden in the Finder. Folder Guard itself is password protected, keeping unwanted eyes from sensitive or private information. According to MacZ Software:
MacZ Software has rolled out FolderGuard 1.5, the newest version of the simple folder protecting software. FolderGuard has a folder list, where user can add folders, and toggle their visibility in Finder. The FolderGuard itself is password protected, so when you go and hide your folders, no one else but you (the password owner) can access them.
Version 1.5 adds a setup assistant, support for Drag & Drop, the possibility to disable the password protection, and a "Check for new updates" command which checks for FolderGuard updates using the user's Internet connection. The new version also fixes a bug that sometimes would prevent the password dialog from appearing under unregistered copies of FolderGuard.
FolderGuard is available as shareware for US$10. You can find more information at the MacZ web site.
