[3:30 PM] Aladdin Updates Stuffit Deluxe To Version 5.5.1, Strongly Encourages Users To Update by Staff Aladdin Systems has announced an update to Stuffit Deluxe to version 5.5.1. The new version includes some new features, Icelandic support, and some bug fixes. According to Aladdin: Aladdin Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Aladdin Systems Holdings, Inc. today released a free StuffIt(tm) 5.5.1 (.sit) update for registered users of StuffIt Deluxe 5.5 for Macintosh. The StuffIt 5.5.1 free update is available from Aladdin's Web site. The update provides new 5.5.1 versions of the following four components: StuffIt Deluxe: "Convert Old Archive" was updated, Certain text files are no longer mistaken to be old "batch file" requests, Replacing items within archives while in "Name" sort order functions properly. True Finder Integration (tm): The TFI control panel now loads on Icelandic Systems with Text Encoding Converters. Secure Delete (tm): No longer resolves alias files to delete original files. DropConverter (tm): No longer confuses InstallerMaker archives as StuffIt archives. System Requirements StuffIt Deluxe requires a Macintosh with System 7.5.3 or higher (including Mac OS 9) with 15 MB of RAM.
