[8:00 AM] Excite@Home Ports Webshots To The Mac by Staff Mac users looking for ever increasing customization of their desktop and interface were given another tool today, as Excite@Home and Webshots announced Webshots Desktop Lite for Macintosh. The new program allows users to browse and download quality photos for use as desktop pictures. According to Excite: Webshots Desktop Lite is the first version of Webshots Desktop for the Macintosh. With the Lite version, Macintosh users can customize their Desktop with a single click from the Webshots site - selecting from thousands of the highest-quality photos available. A fully featured version is due this summer which will include all of the features users are familiar with in the Windows version (photo management, screensavers, etc.), but custom-designed for Macintosh users, taking advantages of the strengths of the Macintosh. Both the Lite and Full versions of Webshots Desktop for Macintosh will be entirely free. Webshots Desktop Lite and related services are available for free.
