[12:00 PM] FileMaker Users: New Plug-In Released That Downloads Mail To Databases
by Staff

Comm-Unity Networking Systems (CNS) just released the first beta of POP3it, a plug in for FileMaker Pro. It allows to download e-mail directly to a FileMaker database. According to CNS:

With POP3it, there is no need for any external helper application.

Features:

  • Dynamically check multiple POP3 e-mail accounts, even on different servers.
  • Automatically extract major e-mail fields such as To, From, Subject, etc.
  • Receive Attachments, which are placed in a directory that you can specify dynamically.
  • Download entire messages into one field or split up into their respective fields.

Please remember that this is a beta release of POP3it and that there may still be problems lurking around. Please read through the read me file and documentation prior to using the plug-in.

The plug in works with FileMaker 4.x and 5.x, and costs US$65. There are prices for developers, education and site licenses. You can find more information and a demo at CNS's site.
