[11:30 AM] Apple Updates QuickTime With Several New Features

Apple has released a new update for QuickTime, bringing it to version 4.1.2. The new version brings a host of improvements including support for Windows 2000, and support for a number of new formats. The changes according to Apple:
Streaming Works Better Through More Firewalls and Proxies
QuickTime streaming works better through more firewalls and proxies.
Improved MP3 Features in QuickTime Plug-in
Added MIME types to work with MP3 playlists (.m3u files).
Works With Windows 2000
QuickTime works with Windows 2000.
Improved QDesign Streaming
QuickTime includes significant improvements in the transmission of live and stored streams when using the QDesign codec. These improvements are compatible with earlier versions of QuickTime.
Improved Compatibility With Kodak Picture CDs
You can open picture files on a Kodak Picture CD using the QuickTime Plug-in.
New SMIL File Extension
Replaced .smi extension with .sml for SMIL support.
Broadband Network Improvements
Fixed situations that caused high packet loss on some networks (including @Home).
