[4:00 PM] XLR8 Releases Public Beta Of USB Video Capture Software

XLR8 has announced a public beta of version 2.0 of InterView, their USB video capture solution. The new software adds several new features. According to

XLR8, the award-winning leader in Macintosh performance and peripherals, announced the public beta of InterView 2.0 Media Capture for Mac USB. 2.0's breakthrough advancement in media capture technology delivers full compatibility with major A/V applications for the web and home.

InterView 2.0 allows any USB or PCI equipped Macintosh system to capture and edit standard media from video, VCR, CD, DVD, and Satellite tuners for electronic distribution. Using Apple's QuickTime, users can stream audio and video live for teleconferencing and entertainment. The addition of XLR8 Theater allows full screen viewing from DVD, Satellite Tuner or VCR - turning any Mac into a stand alone entertainment system.

Users can register and download the Beta version free via the web. XLR8 will notify registered users of additional beta releases and the final release software via e-mail. All registered beta users will be upgraded free of charge from InterView 1.0 to 2.0.

All owners of InterView 1.0 can register to receive a final CD of the InterView 2.0 application and tools at an additional cost upon the software's final release.

About InterView™

The InterView media capture package allows users to import analog video and audio into any USB-equipped Macintosh computer. It supports real-time video at 320x240 and snapshots at 640x480. The package includes Strata VideoShop 4.5 (DV) editing software that gives users the tools necessary to build InterView-captured media into high quality storyboards, web movies, or almost any form of visual or full motion communications. The InterView USB/PCI package includes the XLR8 DualPort USB card allowing any PCI equipped Power Macintosh to take advantage of InterView’s media capture capabilities.

About XLR8 InterView 2.0 This upgrade to the original InterView is a complete media capture package delivering "Capture, Play and Share" capabilities to the Mac. Like the original InterView, it is designed to capture media from any analog (S-Video or RCA composite) source, including VCRs, DVD players, cable boxes, or satellite tuners – PAL or NTSC.

The package includes the same USB video device with the full package of Strata VideoShop 4.5 (DV) with TuneBuilder and XLR8 WebCleaner™ software. InterView 2.0 adds full Adobe Premiere and Sorenson Broadcast compatibility and the XLR8 Theater™ application.
