[6:00 AM] Launch Strip Adds Task Bar & Other Features In Upgrade
by Staff

WestCode Software has updated their multifunction program launcher, Launch Strip. Version 2.0 allows users to open anything from documents to URLs, while avoiding desktop clutter. According to WestCode:

Launch Strip can open applications, documents, URLs, disks, folders, control panels, and servers. Frequently used items can be added to the floating Launch Strip palette by means of simple drag and drop, and then quickly opened anytime by clicking a button or through a user-assigned keyboard shortcut. Multiple Launch Strips can be used to organize items into separate groupings (projects, categories, etc.). Folder or Disk buttons can even be used to navigate Open/Save dialog windows allowing users to quickly switch to a different folder location within an application.

New In Launch Strip 2.0

  • Now includes WestCode's popular program switcher, the Task Bar
  • Launch items can have user-assigned keyboard shortcuts that work anywhere
  • Each Launch Strip can have a keyboard shortcut to display/hide the strip
  • Preferences for button border style, size and text
  • Option to add the active application without having to find its file icon
  • Aliases are now stored internally reducing disk space requirements
  • Extensive online help
  • Uses the latest OneClick 2.x runtime engine
  • Fully compatible with Mac OS 9.x

Unique Features typically not found in other launchers

  • Instant access from within any application
  • Navigate to any folder in an Open/Save file dialog box by clicking on a Launch Strip folder button
  • Batch convert file creator types by dragging to a Launch Strip application button

Launch Strip is available for US$19.98. You can find more information at the WestCode Software web site.
