The good people at The Iconfactory will be announcing the winners of their icon designing contest called Pixelpalooza. The company will be announcing the winner at 1:00 PM EST today. According to The Iconfactory:
The Iconfactory, the Internet's premiere source for quality freeware icons for the Macintosh is proud to announce the winners of this year's icon design contest - Pixelpalooza Y2K at 1pm e.s.t today.
This year's contest has been a resounding success with 125 icon sets submitted from artists around the globe. Contestants compete in three categories - 2D/Illustration, 3D/Copland & System Replacement for the chance to have their work recognized as being the best icon artists the Macintosh community has to offer. In addition, this year's contest features the "People's Pixel Award" as a way to let the general public select their own favorite icon entries to the contest.
Although this year's winning sets will be available for permanent download at The Iconfactory, the remaining entries will be available for download (at the IF) only through March 15th, 2000. There are plenty of sets to grab, and lots of icons to suit different tastes, but we suggest you hustle and download them now, for soon they will be gone.
So stop by The Iconfactory and download icons until your hard drive is full, drop the winners a note, or just marvel at all the creative effort that went into this year's entries and helped make it the success it was. Thanks go out to everyone who participated this year, from artists to voters to sponsors. We hope you'll join us again next year!
You can find more information on the contest at The Iconfactory's web site.
