[11:00 AM] Igniter Compatible With Final Cut Pro
by Staff

Aurora Video Systems has announced that their new, high performance video capture card, Igniter, is fully compatible with Apple's Final Cut Pro. Also, a version of the card allowing the capture of uncompressed data will be available shortly. According to Aurora:

Igniter and Final Cut Pro are being showcased at Apple's MacWorld conference in San Francisco, where visitors to the Final Cut Pro booth can watch the capture of uncompressed video. Both professional and amateur video editors will appreciate the image quality that the Igniter capture card offers video users. "The Igniter Uncompressed option renders incredible image quality, with absolutely no data loss," said Tim McMahon, Aurora Video Systems' Chief Technology Officer, "so that, with Final Cut Pro, we can offer our customers a complete, affordable uncompressed video editing solution."

The Igniter Component Uncompressed cards will begin shipping in February 2000. Aurora plans to release an Igniter SDI Uncompressed card beginning in March 2000. Igniter Video Capture cards are fully compatible with all Macintosh G3s and G4s.

Aurora's Igniter video capture card makes the hottest high-end video processing options available at a price that toasts the competition. Designed exclusively for Mac applications, this card has a 13.3 MB per second data rate, has fully synchronized audio, up to 16 bit 48kHz Stereo, and is fully QuickTime™ MJPEG-A compatible.

The Igniter card will be available for US$1149. You can find more information at the Aurora Video Systems web site.
