Apple has announced the addition of 5 new channels for QuickTime TV. The company has added channels for independent film and music makers. According to Apple:
Apple® today added five new channels representing the best in independent film and music to QuickTime™TV (QTV), the Internet's highest-quality network for web-based video and audio.
The new QuickTime TV channels are: AtomFilms, a leading distributor of short-form films, animation and digital media; The New Venue, an online showcase for movies made specifically for the Internet; D.FILM, an acclaimed traveling and online showcase of digital films; V2 Records, an independent music label; and brandnewmusic.com, an online showcase for unsigned musical talent.
"In just seven months, QuickTime TV has established itself as the source for both premium, brand-name content and the best in original, innovative content," said Phil Schiller, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. "The new QTV channels will give new talent an incredible reach to an international audience."

Macintosh® and Windows users can view QTV's diverse content via Apple's state-of-the-art QuickTime 4 Player, which provides one-click access to users' favorite QTV channels as well as the ability to bookmark content from anywhere on the Internet. The QuickTime Player is available as a free download from www.apple.com/quicktime.
