CharisMac Engineering has released Discribe 2.99, an update to their CD mastering software. This new version includes AudioScribe, which allows users to transfer vinyl, tape, and voice recordings to their hard drives and then to a CD. According to CharisMac:
Discribe has also added support for the Que USB CD-RW drive from QPS as well as a variety of new CD-R and CD-RW devices.
Discribe equips users with all of the tools necessary to easily master CDs in a variety of formats, copy data or audio CDs and create audio and mixed-mode CDs. Discribe supports many popular firewire and USB CD-R and CD-RW drives as well as virtually all SCSI and ATAPI drives on the market. Discribe is bundled with firewire, USB and SCSI drives from Sony as well as a number of other OEMs.
Discribe offers support for the creation of HFS, ISO-9660, Hybrid and Audio CDs. ISO-9660 and Hybrid CDs can be read on both a Mac and a PC.
Discribe with AudioScribe's built-in Pro-Audio support gives the professional audio user control over the Audio CD mastering process. With Discribe, users can simply drag mounted audio CD tracks onto the interface for automatic digital audio extraction from within the Pro-Audio feature.
Discribe with AudioScribe includes a universal CD driver that supports all CD-ROM, CD-R and CD-RW devices as readers.
