[6:00 AM] Iconfactory Releases Icon Set for OS X
by Staff
The Iconfactory artists are at it again. They have released the first icon set for OS X, and it happens to mark the 100th icon set in their history. OS X promises to give icon artists a new medium with its large icons, and our friends at Iconfactory are the first to take advantage. According to Iconfactory:
The Internet's premiere source for freeware Macintosh Icons, The Iconfactory, is proud to announce both the release of our 100th icon collection as well as our first set customized for Mac OS X.
The Iconfactory's 100th Set combines previously released icons as well as all new, unique "Aquanoids" - both updated for the new icon environment of Apple's OS X. The collection sports the now familiar 128x128 pixel thumbnail icons that Apple Introduced back at MacWorld San Francisco in January. Although mainly developers will be the only ones to view and use this latest set, when the public beta is released later this summer, it should become clear what all the hoop-la has been about.
Since MacWorld San Fran., The Iconfactory has been hard at work creating OS X icons for some of the best known Macintosh software companies. This release, however, marks the first freeware X collection made available at the IF.
