[8:00 AM] Mac Observer SETI Team Welcomes New Company Member!
by Bryan Chaffin

We are happy to announce that Team Mac Observer, our SETI@home team, has a new company member! Dr. Physics has joined the team with three computers bringing in more than 700 work units. Dr. Physics offers science and math online education. If you would like to have more information on Team Mac Observer, SETI@home, or having your company logo on our Team pages, we have all the information you might need.

Since our last update, we have gained two places in the Top 100 Club Teams, and are now in firm grasp of the #16 spot. Better yet, we are outpacing two of the 4 teams ahead of us, and have been doing so for many weeks, thanks to all our Team members. The OS/2 team and Team User Friendly, will no doubt fall before the might of Team Mac Observer before too much longer. :-)

We have updated the Top 20 Most Completed Units, and the Top 20 Fastest members, both of which are looking very impressive. The Top 3 Most Completed Units members alone have 30 CPU years between them (NGI, Charles S. Gasser, and Senton, Inc. respectively), and you have to have a lean G4 to break the 7 hour mark required to be one of our fastest members.

Team Mac Observer is one of three Mac teams in the Top 20, and we could use your help. Whether you have a PowerMac G4 or a stock PowerMac 6100, we need your processing power! It's easy to join, a great scientific effort to assist, and frankly a lot of fun. It's certainly been fun passing up all those PC teams, so come on and join us!

Thanks to Low End Mac, Applelinks, and MacBC for all their help with the Team.
