[3:00 PM] Newer Technology Becomes More User Friendly by Staff Newer Technology has announced the elimination of some shipping/receiving positions while simultaneously adding personnel to sales. With the changes, Newer believes that its business model will be more efficient. According to Newer: Tri-M, Newer's Singapore business partner and manufacturer has assumed many warehousing and shipping functions which Newer previously maintained at their Wichita headquarters. Coincident with this streamlining is the hiring of additional salespeople to focus on the Business and Education sectors. Newer has been busy increasing personnel in other areas. "Newer has increased the sales personnel by contracting with the firm of Sunset Direct out of Austin, Texas," states Doug Johnson, VP Sales. "Sunset Direct specializes in generating sales leads from the Business and Education markets. Their focus on these areas enables our internal sales people to spend greater amounts of time working with our existing resellers. Many of these same resellers will be servicing the leads generated by the new salespeople. This is a real win for Newer. We increase our exposure in new markets while simultaneously increasing opportunities for our existing channel partners." Newer Technology
