Benoit Widemann has updated his multip functional contact program, Carnet, to version 3.7. Carnet provides a searchable telephone and contact database, while providing tight internet integration with powerful printing capabilities. According to Mr. Widemann:
Today Benoît Widemann has announced Carnet version 3.7. Carnet is a powerful and fast address book with internet and printing capabilities.
Carnet instantly finds the record you need even if the list contains tens of thousands of records. It dials the numbers, handles e-mail addresses and URLs, supports drag and drop and integrates nicely with other applications. Carnet is Internet-aware and handles dragging URLs and bookmarks--it actually makes a quite efficient bookmark manager.
Carnet is a great tool to print labels, envelopes, cards and address books at any format, from the large desktop book to the smallest pocket leaflet. WYSIWYG print templates handle Avery labels and standard sizes envelopes. Any number of user-defined templates can be created. Carnet can print cropping marks and even reuse a partially printed sheet by selecting which label to start printing on.
Carnet can directly use the Palm Pilot's HotSync feature, through the included "Carnet To Go" conduit.
Carnet's powerful find feature shines with the included VersionTracker database. Built in collaboration with VersionTracker, it contains a list of more than 5,000 Macintosh products with short descriptions and active Internet links.
