[1:00 PM] Apple's Web Site Beats All Other PC Sites For Third Week In A Row by Staff For the third week in a row, Apple has trounced all other PC sites to claim the #1 spot in PC Data's Top 10 Hardware Site Rankings for the week ending 2/26/2000. Apple also saw a big rise in traffic for the week of 135,000 unique visitors to a total of 1,096,000 unique visitors. While Apple spanked the PC manufacturing sites, the company faced a new challenger in the form of Egghead.com, the online retailer. Egghead.com also received 1,096,000 unique visitors, though PC Data ranked them as #2. The rest of the Top 10 was comprised of the usual suspects jockeying for position. The top 4 positions all saw overall increases in terms of percent of Audience reached and raw numbers. Most of the remaining 6 positions saw slight decreases in overall traffic. The exception being Outpost.com which saw a 50.5% increase from 265,000 unique visitors to 399,000.
