[4:00 PM] Apple Broadens Software Selection At The Apple Store by Staff Apple has done what many have wanted for a long time. The company has broadened the software selection available at the Apple Store and added several new titles. According to Apple: Many of you probably have a store in your area that offers an array of Apple software, giving you the opportunity to browse through shelves filled with the top utility, productivity, educational, creative, and gaming software available for the Mac. For those of you who don't, we invite you to browse our shelves. On the Apple Store. We've been expanding our selection of software and now offer not only Apple software but also some great software titles from our friends and partners in the developer community--SoundJam MP (Casady & Greene), MYOB Accounting Plus 9.0 (MYOB), Myth: The Total Codex (Bungie), and Corel Draw 8.0 (Corel) to name just a few. Be sure to check with your local retail store (http://buy.apple.com), where you may be able to see a demo of a software title you're interested in before purchasing it, but don't forget to scan our growing selection of software titles if your local store is out of stock or doesn't carry a product you're looking for: You can find the software selection at The Apple Store. The Mac Observer Spin: It is interesting that Apple acknowledges the fact that software can be hard to find in some areas. This is especially true in those markets without a CompUSA or Fry's. Many regional VARs certainly have a good software selection as well, but there are far too many markets that lack even a good VAR. This a great move for Apple to make. While still carrying only 65 titles as of this writing, they are all topnotch applications. It would be good for the Apple Store to carry more peripherals as well.
