Engineered Software has announced the release of PowerCADD 2000, and update to the PowerCADD product. The new version includes several new features. According to Engineered Software:
Engineered Software, a leader in innovative CAD and desktop publishing software, announces the latest release of PowerCADD, PowerCADD 2000.
PowerCADD's new fully justified text now provides the freedom of text handling with the reliability and stability of true desktop publishing. Working with text in your CAD software should be as easy as using any word processor. More accurate spacing is available for 1, 1.5 and double spacing.
PowerCADD's new Symbol Data lets you add tags of information to objects in the drawing which has many uses. Tag door sizes and types to interior architectural plans. Layout theatre lighting and include position, angle and tint information. Create your own symbol libraries and have those objects saved with preformatted symbol data for repeated use or add data to objects as you draw.
Large drawing archives are no longer a problem as PowerCADD has a new File Preview window which gives thumbnails of each drawing as highlighted in the open dialog box. The Paint Bucket tool fills those hard to reach corners, vertices and intersections.
For more visual and accurate snapping, a new snap red rectangle now marks your location. PowerCADD 2000 includes translators for cross-platform and cross-application file exchange including DXF read and write for AutoCAD, EPS read and write for Illustrator, write JPEG (great for web and presentations), read and write PICT, read PostScript printer format, read HPGL plotter files, read old Claris CAD files and libraries as well as previous versions of PowerCADD and PowerDraw files and libraries. You can also export to SGI, Photoshop, BMP, PICT Bitmap, PNG, MacPaint, TIFF, TGA and QuickTime Image format. Additional information can be found at our web site: http://www.engsw.com.
