[10:00 AM] Micromat Announces Drive Utility For OS X
by Staff

Riding the wave of hype around yesterday's announcement of an upcoming release of a public beta of OS X, Micromat has announced the first commercial drive repair utility for OS X, Drive 10. According to Micromat:

Micromat today announced the first Macintosh disk repair and utility recovery product for Mac OS X. Announced at the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference, Drive10™ is a brand new product from the world leader in disk repair and maintenance technology. Sporting a sleek, intuitive Aqua interface, this advanced disk repair and recovery product has been designed exclusively for Mac® OS X. In addition to repairing drives and recovering data, Drive10 offers users the additional benefit of providing automatic, regular backups of important volume structure data, which can make data and drive recovery far easier and more reliable.

New Mac Utility Brings Disk Repair And Recovery Features To OS X Drive10, based on TechTool Pro's renowned repair and recovery technology, has been written from the ground up to take full advantage of OS X's native format. Drive10 takes full advantage of OS X's preemptive multitasking environment as well as protected memory. Not only does Drive10 support the HFS+ file system, but it also works seamlessly with the POSIX and NFS file systems.

Drive 10 will ship at the same time as Apple ships OS X, and will be available for US$99.95. You can find more information at the Micromat web site.
