[8:00 AM] Nu Font Pack Adds New Faces
by Staff

Scooter Graphics has announced a new version of its font pack Called Nu Font pack 1.2. Changes include a new italic face. According to Scooter Graphics:

The Nu Font pack contains some of Scooter Graphics' most popular fonts: Nu Sans, Nu Serif, Nu Casual and Nu Sans Monospaced.

This release adds the wonderful Selectric-inspired italic face to Nu Sans Monospaced.

Nu Sans and Nu Serif were inspired by Apple Computer's Espy Sans and Espy Serif bitmap fonts. Espy Sans was supposed to appear in Copland, but instead we got Charcoal in Mac OS 8.0. Espy Serif was formerly used by Apple for the Apple Guide. My Nu Sans and Nu Serif bring back these great-looking screen fonts in a more useful way. Whereas the Espy fonts would look jaggy when scaled to different sizes, my "Nu" fonts scale properly.

Nu Casual was inspired by another dead Apple project (I guess I'm a sucker for lost causes!), the Apple Newton OS. This scalable font brings the look of the Newton's "computer handwriting" to your Mac.

Nu Sans Monospaced is a monospaced version of Nu Sans.

The font pack costs US$31 and a demo is available for download. The whole package costs 20% less than the separate fonts. You can find more information at Scooter Graphics' site.
