MacToolkit.com has announced the release of eMailMan 1.5.1. This product allows you to check for new mail without opening up your e-mail client, a boon for those with tight system resources. The update offers a new control strip module and some bug fixes. According to MacToolkit.com:

eMailMan from MacToolkit.com makes keeping your mail in check easy and effective. eMailMan will scan your mailboxes on a regular basis, and notify you when new messages are available. eMailMan can play sounds, show dialog boxes, activate applications and AppleScripts, and send Apple events to other applications. You can even send short messages to others. All without running your regular e-mail software.

eMailMan costs US$12 (shareware) and you can find more information about it at MacToolkit.com.
