[3:30 PM] Market Driven Pricing Hits FireWireDirect

For users of recent generation, FireWire enabled Macs, FireWire Direct has good news. Due to the growing FireWire market, FirewireDirect will now be pricing their hard drives daily, much like RAM. As demand, and thus pricing changes, users will be able to get the best possible deal on that high capacity, ultra-fast FireWire drive they have wanted. In addition, the company also announced some changes to their 2.5" lineup. According to FirewireDirect:
FirewireDirect.com, Inc. announced they are expanding their line of FireWire hard drives while launching a market driven price structure that establishes a new standard for affordable FireWire storage for consumers.
The change immediately means new prices on the company's existing FireWire hard drive products, establishing a new price to beat on portable 2.5" FireWire drives. The FirewireDirect 2.5" Spark Drive HDD 9GB drive will evolve to a new 12GB configuration that will continue to sell for the smaller drive's $399. The Spark 2.5" HDD 18GHB drive's price will fall also, based on current market availability, to a low $599.
Current pricing on the Spark HDD line of 2.5" Drives is as follows:

18GB 2.5" Spark HDD $599
The company will be offering similar standard setting prices on an upcoming line of 3.5" FireWire hard drives, and on other upcoming FireWire storage initiatives, including a FireWire RAID solution. Sizes and prices on the new drives and are not being revealed at this time, but information will be appearing on the company web site over the next weeks before the line of 3.5" drives will officially debut in mid June.
The company web site will be updated frequently to reflect current best pricing, and FirewireDIrect customers will be aware of optimum times to buy through e-mail alerts circulated on the company mailing list.
