[2:00 PM] Casady & Greene Preparing To Release Preview Version Of OS X Ready SoundJam MP Plus

In a move sure to make MP3 and OS X fans happy, Casady & Greene announced today that they expect to release a Carbonized, preview version of their popular MP3 player and encoder, SoundJam MP Plus . The release is expected to work with the most recent build of OS X, DP4, and as OS X is updated, SoundJam will be updated as well. According to Casady & Greene:
Casady & Greene announced today that they will shortly make available a preview release of SoundJam MP Plus that works with and complements the release of Mac OS X DP4. This version of the OS was distributed to developers at Apple's WWDC on May 15, 2000. As Mac OS X is updated, SoundJam MP for Mac OS X will also be updated, and when the final shipping version of Mac OS X is released, SoundJam MP Plus for Mac OS X will ship at the same time.
SoundJam MP Plus for Mac OS X has been written to take advantage of the Carbon APIs in Mac OS X. Carbon is designed to speed development and ease the transition from previous versions of Mac OS, while allowing applications to take full advantage of the great new features of Mac OS X.
SoundJam MP Plus is the Eddy award winning MP3 player, encoder, and organizer of digital music for the Macintosh. It has taken a leading role in bringing to Mac customers a variety of audio and visual special effects, improved selection and organization of music data, and the ability to download music into portable MP3 audio players such as the Rio 500(TM), Nomad II(TM), and I-JAM(TM). SoundJam MP has been updated to take advantage of the advanced features available in Mac OS X, DP4.
This version will be made available to registered owners of SoundJam MP Plus and will require an existing SoundJam MP serial number, a version of Mac OS 9, and Mac OS X. It must be remembered that this cutting edge version of SoundJam MP Plus for Mac OS X is targeted to the developer community and will be unsupported while Mac OS X is under development.
