Another Sign: Powerlogix Expands Oprations To Powerlogix Japan
Powerlogix has announced that they have expanded their operations to Japan and opened a new branch called Powerlogix Japan. According to Powerlogix:

PowerLogix today announced that through a strategic alliance with MJSoft of Tokyo, Japan, PowerLogix will be opening its first international branch.

"We at Powerlogix R&D, Inc. are very excited and proud to announce the opening of Powerlogix Japan. The Japanese market has always been very supportive of the Mac, and this will allow Powerlogix to expand its presence there while providing superior service and support," said Noelle Harris, Sales Director for PowerLogix, R&D.

The Powerlogix Japan website will have product information, technical support information, and online ordering, translated for Japanese customers. PowerLogix Japan will also distribute PowerLogix products be through mail order and retail stores.

In line with the international exposure and increased manufacturing capabilities, PowerLogix will now be offering affordable G3 L2 Cache slot upgrade cards for the 20th Anniversary Macs, PowerMac 4400, 5400, 5500, 6400, 6500, 7220, Performa 5400, 5500, 6360, 6400, 6500; UMAX C500 and C600; and the StarMax 3000, 4000, and 5000.

Congratulations to Powerlogix!

The Mac Observer Spin: We are including this in our "Another Sign" series of evidence that the Mac market has recovered and is healthy because any Mac company that dramatically expands their operations, especially to another continent, can only happen when all parties are strong. Specifically, it would not be possible for Powerlogix to have found a partner with whom to work if their operations were not strong. Their operations could not be strong unless the Mac market was alive and healthy.

This increased exposure for Powerlogix will directly benefit them, but it will also benefit the Mac market in Japan. Though Apple seems to not understand this as G3 upgrade sales cannibalize, by default, new hardware sales for the company, the entire upgrade market is a vital service. Not everyone can afford to buy a new Blue & White or sometimes even a new iMac. But many people needing a faster Mac can turn to the great companies that are in the G3 upgrade market and get the power they need.

Sure, many of these sales do take sales from Apple, but many others do not. They instead keep Mac owners happy and content Mac owners. Mac owners that are buying Mac software, Mac peripherals, and MacOS upgrades. This is of course excellent for Apple as it preserves and helps increase their overall marketshare.

It is easy and cheap for PC owners to upgrade their Wintel boxes and our G3 upgrade companies make it easier and cheaper for Mac owners to upgrade their Macs.
