Web Register Updated With Several New Features
Public Access Software has announced an upgrade to Web Register, their registration software for application developers looking to provide easy registration for their customers. The new version, 2.5.5, includes several new features despite the incremental version number change. According to Public Access Software:

Web Register is a convenient alternative to the ubiquitous "Register" application included with most Mac ShareWare. Web Register focuses on easing the User to a Software Vendor's web site where they can purchase or register the product. Web Register is available in 68k, PowerPC or FAT binaries.

Web Register Editor is a FAT binary, GUI-based, bundled editing program that allows for the simple editing of Web Register applications without resorting to cumbersome resource editors.

Changes in version 2.5.5 of Web Register:

  • Web Register can now export its URL into any of the following formats:
    • Netscape Navigator/Communicator
    • Internet Explorer
    • America Online "Favorite" *NEW*
    • Mac OS Bookmark *NEW*
      • NOTE: iCab apparently uses the Mac OS 8.5 Bookmark so there is no separate iCab item in Web Register.
  • Web Register will now ask to save the URL into a file named after the Product unless the User changes it manually.
  • Web Register Editor has had a few more interface tweaks.

Web Register is distributed as ShareWare with a one-time single-product distribution license fee of US$40. Each additional product requires a separate license fee.

You can find more information and download links for Web Register at the company's web site.
