Bell Atlantic Doesn't Get It, Netscape 3 Offered On Mac ISP CD
Observer Robin Mitchell-Boyask wrote in today with some interesting information about Bell Atlantic's offering for the Mac:

"You might be interested to know that Bell Atlantic is shipping CDs with ISP installation software. On the Mac side it's 3 years old, including Netscape 3. When I called to ask, they didn't see the problem. Needless to say they're not getting my business when I dump AT&T."

No one at Bell Atlantic was available for comment at press time.

The Mac Observer Spin: This is inexcusable, and it doesn't make sense. Why companies are willing to put out a mediocre product is beyond us here at The Mac Observer. It's almost as if Bell Atlantic WANTS to annoy Mac users. They would have been better off leaving Mac support off the CD if they weren't willing to spend the 10 minutes to download the latest flavor of Netscape. With their current offering, anyone who DOES sign-up is likely to be very disappointed, and will not recommend the service to their peers. With 85% of the 2 Million plus iMac users out there already on the Internet, the Mac presence is surely felt when examining the bottom line. Perhaps it's just going to take more time for these large, sluggish companies to realize that the Mac is here to stay.
