Speech Recognition Utility For The Mac Released
Chilton Webb has released Speech Therapist, a utility designed to help Mac users understand what your Mac thinks you are saying when you use Speech Recognition. A very handy feedback utility indeed. According to M. Webb:

Speech Therapist is a simple Speech Recognition program. It is designed to assist those who use Speech Recognition on your Mac in discovering what your Mac really thinks you're saying. It is an excellent tool for experimenting with word spellings and their interpretation by Speech Recognition. Speech Therapist is a true MacOS application. A second, smaller version requires SuperCard 3.5 or WebbToys 1.7 or later.

You can find Speech Therapist at http://www.webbtoys.com/speechtherapy/.
You can find Speech Recognition from Apple at http://www.apple.com/speech

Best of all, this utility is freeware.

The Mac Observer Spin: We wanted to explain a bit more indepth. Built-in Speech Recognition on the Mac is not that hot, yet. When working with Speech Recognition, it can be frustrating to not know why your commands are working. This tool will tell you what your Mac is hearing. This kind of feedback will greatly accelerate your own learning curve when working with Speech Recognition.
