[6:00 AM] New Switches & Extenders To Be Announced At MACWORLD

Gefen, Inc. has let The Mac Observer know that they will be officially unveiling three new products at MACWORLD Expo next week in San Francisco. The company will be bringing two new extenders and a new USB switch to the Mac market. These products are aimed at IT professionals and others who may work with many computers. According to Gefen:

Gefen Inc. is a developer of KVM/USB Switches and KVM/USB Extenders for Macintosh, PC and SGI computers. At the upcoming MACWORLD Expo SF 2000, the company will be introducing three new products:

1.. extendit CAT5-2000S/R KVM/USB Extender, which extends a keyboard, video and mouse up to 300 feet away from (PC or Macintosh) using CAT-5 cables for extension of the video/mouse/keyboard and USB devices. The USB extension is utilizing "ExtremeUSB" technology developed by Icron Systems Inc.

2.. extendit USB241 Switch, which switches video and USB between any combination of two or more (PC or Macintosh) computers. The USB241 is expandable to switch up to 16 CPUs. The RMT-16 remote control allows remote control of the USB241 unit(s).

3.. extendit USB-100S/R USB Extender, which extends a keyboard, mouse and any other USB device up to 300 feet away from an Apple Macintosh computer. The extension cables are industry standard CAT-5 cables for the extension of the keyboard and USB devices.

The USB extension hardware is utilizing "ExtremeUSB" technology developed by Icron Systems Inc.
