[2:20 PM] New High End Scanner To Be Unveiled At MACWORLD Expo by Staff Agfa Corporation will be demoing a new high-end scanner for the professional market at MACWORLD. The company will be introducing the DuoScan HiD. The DuoScan HiD features high-resolutions and 42-bit color. According to Agfa: Agfa Corporation's Desktop Products Group will exhibit the newest members of it's digital imaging family at MacWorld 2000, held this week in San Francisco. Highlighting the expanded scanner lineup is the new DuoScan HiD - featuring an optical resolution of 1000 x 2000 dpi, 42-bit color depth and Agfa's patented TwinPlate(TM) technology. DuoScan HiD The newest member of the DuoScan family, the DuoScan HiD, features an optical resolution of 1000 x 2000 dpi, 42-bit color depth and Agfa's patented TwinPlate(TM) technology. The DuoScan HiD is designed for professionals who need to capture great color detail within a wide density range - such as photographers, graphic illustrators, photo banks, museum archives, specialty publishers and commercial printers. With a true 14-bits-per-color depth and wide dynamic range, the DuoScan HiD scanner captures a high level of image quality, especially in the darkest areas of negatives or positive slides where detail is difficult to capture. The DuoScan HiD also captures even the most difficult colors such as deep reds and blues with remarkable accuracy. The company says that the new product will be available in February at a price of US$2,450.
