[2:50 PM] SETI@home Passes 1.5 Million Members, Team Mac Observer Moves To #19 Club Team
by Staff

Team Mac Observer, our SETI@home team, has moved up another place in the Top Club standings. If you need more information on SETI@home, read all about it. Team Mac Observer is now ranked #19 in the Top 100 Club Teams. At the same time, we have just broken the 100 years of CPU time contributed mark. This means that our 353 Team members have contributed a combined total of over 100 CPU years, a staggering amount of time. Over all, the project has logged some 145,572.76 CPU years, an awe inspiring number. This has been made possible by the fact that the project can now claim more than 1.5 million participants, an event with incredible implications for the future of distributed processing. You can see the projects overall statistics at their web site.

If you would like to join SETI@home, we would love for you to join our Team (we have the easy instructions you need to do so) Team Mac Observer has members from many Mac web sites (including Applelinks, MacBC, and Low End Mac), several companies (if you sign up two or more computers on our Team, we will put your logo on the Team home page), and lots of other Mac enthusiasts. We have one of the fastest Mac teams in the Top 100 Club Teams and we are one of three Mac teams in the Top 20. It's a great project that is lots of fun!
