Software To Track Print Jobs Released
Productive Intelligence has released PrintTrack, a software app that will track print jobs made on Macs. According to Productive Intelligence:

"PrintTrack creates a print track log file which contains information about what has been printed. A unique feature of PrintTrack is to bring up a "reminder window" to remind the user to enter in a user name and job number each time they print anything. Without the reminder option on, PrintTrack records the date, time, document name, number of pages, printer name and computer name for every print, silently in the background to its log file.

For Advertising agencies which need to track expensive color proofs by client or project, this feature can pay for the cost of PrintTrack Mac very quickly. Uses for PrintTrack found during its beta testing program include tracking prints made in an architects office, tracking what was printed from computers in a University, as well as in-house graphics departments and Ad agencies."

The company is also offering FileMaker Pro database app that will import the log files created by PrintTrack for sorting, storing, and printing purposes. The database is customizable from within FileMaker Pro.

PrintTrack is priced at US$50 for a single user license with 5 users priced at US$199, 10 users at US$299, and 50 users priced at US$999. The product is only available for the Mac.
