Another Mac Port: PhotoMontage Software Brought To Mac
ArcSoft has announced they are bringing PhotoMontage to the Mac. PhotoMontage allows one to create a single image as a composite from many images similar to the image used in advertisements for The Truman Show. According to ArcSoft:

"PhotoMontage's sophisticated technology automatically selects and arranges thousands of tiny micro-images to recreate the detail of a single image. The included ArcSoft Mega Collection contains over 20,000 micro-images.

Users can also customize their montage by adding their own personal images. PhotoMontage allows users to enhance images, apply grids and borders, captions, personal signatures and logos or even place a "hidden treasure" in the final montage.

Once created, the montage can be printed on a color inkjet or laser printer or used to create full-size posters utilizing ArcSoft's special PhotoMontage printing service available via the web."

PhotoMontage system requirements include: Macintosh system 7.5 and higher, PowerPC, 32 MB RAM, 20 MB hard disk and a CD-ROM. PhotoMontage supports TWAIN-compliant devices and most popular image file formats including BMP, TIF, JPG, GIF, PCD (read-only), PCX, TGA, and FlashPix.

The software is expected to retail for US$79.95

The Mac Observer Spin: Another Wintel oriented company bringing a popular Windows title to the Mac is always such a lovely thing. PhotoMontage is billed as an entertainment title and has wide appeal in the consumer market.
