Sherlock Menu Updated With Performance And Feature Upgrades
Public Access Software has released an update to Sherlock Menu, their utility for more quickly accessing Sherlock from any application. The new version brings increased performance, a new Control Strip module and other improvements. According to Public Access Software:

Sherlock Menu 2.5 is a substantial update to the popular utility that lets you quickly and easily access the Sherlock search tool of Mac OS 8.5 and newer.

New in version 2.5:

  • Sherlock Menu's core was substantially rewritten to be more efficient and accurate when pre-configuring Sherlock's search mode. Sherlock Menu now has redundant support for this feature in case of problems.
  • The new Control Strip Module version of Sherlock Menu provides the exact same functionality in a different form. Perfect for those with smaller screens or CSM fans.
  • Better error handling and reporting to help squash incompatibilities for some users.
  • Enhanced Appearance Manager Support for Sherlock Menu Control.

More information and downloads can be found at the company's web site. Sherlock Menu is shareware priced at US$5. The update is free to registered owners.
