iMac Touch Screen Developer Wins Award, Announces New Partnership With Mac Developer
Elo Touch Systems, the developer of touch screen iMacs, has been given an award for marketing excellence by Frost & Sullivan. The company has also announced a new partnership with Mile High Media, a Mac developer. According to Elo TouchSystems:

Elo TouchSystems, Inc. announces that it has won the most recent Market Engineering Sales Strategy Award from market-research firm, Frost & Sullivan. The award is given to Elo for "demonstrated excellence in sales strategy" in the kiosk market. According to Frost & Sullivan, Elo received the award because "the company possesses a well-organized, well-trained sales force that maximizes its market share potential by profitably matching the sales strategy investment with the customer potential.

Frost & Sullivan is a leading customer-focused marketing consulting company. Its Market Engineering program is a measurement-based system that fully integrates market research, goal setting, strategic marketing, market planning, implementation, and monitoring as integral components of the marketing process.

According to the Frost & Sullivan report, Elo TouchSystems received the award because the company "is able to provide a complete kiosk solution that includes defining of key design considerations, providing engineering design services, assistance in selection and procurement of hardware components, and integration. Furthermore, through its Elo TouchReady Software Partners, this company is able to partner with various software developers worldwide.

The company also announced a partnership with Mile High Media in which the two will promote Mile High Media's touch screen products. Mile High Media is a Mac only development house. According to Elo TouchSystems:

Elo TouchSystems, Inc. today announces a strategic marketing alliance with Mile High Media, a leader in full service kiosk solutions. Mile High Media joins Elo's Kiosk Partner program after four years of successful joint projects with Elo. Under the terms of Elo's Kiosk Partner Program, both companies will work together to promote Mile High Media's use of the latest Apple technology in rich, engaging, multimedia applications primarily used in conjunction with a kiosk.

The Mac Observer Spin: First of all, congratulations to both companies! There is so much potential for Apple in what Elo TouchSystems is doing. The iMac is the perfect kiosk computer and we expect to see some exciting announcements from Elo within the next 6-12 months. Apple benefits by not only selling more computers to Elo (which resells them with their own touchscreen technology), but by an increased presence in the pubic eye, though it is likely that many kiosks will be developed where the iMac body is hidden behind a housing of some sort. Kiosks and Point-of-Sale systems are both markets where Apple has had almost no presence at all for many many years. This is an excellent growth area.
