Blue Byte Reverses Itself, Settlers III Coming To Mac
We are pleased to report that Blue Byte Software has had a change of heart and has decided to bring Settlers III to the Mac. This is the letter we received from Blue Byte:

"Bryan:

I have pleasure advising we are returning to the Macintosh platform and have become partners with Logicware so they can begin the conversion. We are looking to publish The Settlers III on the Macintosh this Summer. Please check our website often for further details.

Regards,

Sam Flint
PR Manager"

We looked at the web site to find more specific information on the Mac release of Settlers III but did not find any. We are awaiting a call back from Ms. Flint at Blue Byte right now and will keep you abreast of any new developments as they occur.

The Mac Observer Spin: Many Mac gamers were upset when Blue Byte announced last year that Settlers III would be Windows only, though Blue Byte did keep the door open for a change in the market. Since that time of course, the Mac market has had a massive rebound with Apple's domestic market share doubling in the last six months of 1998. The ongoing success of the iMac has had an effect on many developers with tons of new software titles and hardware (mainly USB and FireWire) having been announced.

It's good to see Blue Byte return to the fold.
