MacTicker Gets A New Engine And An Update
The good people at Galleon Software have announced a new version of MacTicker bringing the desktop stock reporting app to version 1.1.1. According to Galleon Software.

MacTicker is a specialized web browser that queries financial websites around the world and reformats the information it receives as an animated stock ticker and a collection of concise reports. With MacTicker 1.1.1, Galleon has completely re-engineered their graphics engine to allow the ticker to be updated on the fly and displayed at virtually any size, in any font.

You can now double-click on any stock in the ticker to bring up a detailed stock report, and from there automatically jump to your favorite trading site if you don't like what you see. Or you can open the stock's web page in your favorite browser for even more information.

MacTicker 1.1.1 now lets you configure individual alerts for each of your stocks to warn you when your favorite stock rises or falls by a defined amount or even if it reaches a specified price.

For its security-conscious customers, Galleon Software has included support for SOCKS firewalls. And for those of you who count yourselves among the fractionally challenged, MacTicker can now be configured to express all your stock prices in decimals and the price changes in percentages.

Galleon offers a demo of MacTicker that runs for 15 minutes before it quits. The full version is priced at US$25.
