Interested In OS X Server? 4 New Discussion Lists Launched
Anomaly has announced the launch of four new e-mail discussion lists for those interested in MacOS X Server. For those unfamiliar with e-mail discussion lists, they provide a forum for discussions about a particular topic handled through e-mail. Technical discussion lists can be quite enjoyable to those interested in the particular technology. Anomaly offers the lists with little, but some moderation. According to Anomaly:

The general discussion lists are very open forums where anything can be a topic and very little (with the exception of overt nastiness and excessive bad language) in the way of regulation.

About the new MacOS X Server lists:

Anomaly, a free technology discussion group, is announcing the availability of four new lists devoted entirely to MacOS X Server and the people that work with it. Those new lists are as follows:

osx-admin (for administration discussions)
osx-apache (for Apache Server discussions)
osx-general (for general discussions about MacOS X Server)
osx-samba (for Samba discussion)

Anomaly's ultracool subscription interface has not been updated for these new lists yet, so subscribing can be achieved in one of two ways. You can either go to the lists page here:

http://www.egroups.com/list/osxlists/info.html

Or you can send mail to the following addresses (do NOT add any text to these messages as it will be ignored):

[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

The mail account you send your subscription request will be the one used for your subscription, so please post all messages for the lists from that account.

The strength of these lists lies in their extremely focused charters, which define the discussion and make it easier for list members to talk about only what they choose. Anomaly has found that this focus allows members to be more open and share more of their experience with the other members. This truly fosters a very sharing and open community of people that work daily and closely with technology.

Though these lists are not strictly MacOS or Apple-centric, Anomaly feels that Apple has made enormous contributions to the personal computer revolution and stands by its Macintosh using members with the experience of long time Mac users. Anomaly is primarily supported on MacOS-based systems and will soon be taking advantage of more Apple technology with the advent of MacOS X Server.

You can read more about Anomaly and their discussion lists at the company's web site.
