[12:14 PM] Play Incorporates Ships 3D Modeling Tool
by Staff

Play Incorporated, the mega Windows peripheral producer of Snappy (video screen capture card), has released Amorphium. Amorphium is a cross platform (simultaneous release) 3D modeling tool aimed at the consumer market that wants a professional tool.

Amorphium, brings 3D graphics creation to a whole new audience by allowing users to create 3D models in real-time as easily as sculpting clay. Amorphium's breakthrough approach eliminates the slow and difficult wireframe editing associated with existing 3D systems.

Amorphium enables consumers to create custom 3D graphics for web sites, desktop publishing, school projects and personal creation. Experienced Adobe Photoshop users and 3D graphics professionals can also use Amorphium's unique sculpting tools to easily create models, that would be impossible or difficult to create using traditional programs.

Amorphium is priced at US$149 and should be showing up in retail outlets near you soon (expect it to be about two weeks).

The Mac Observer Spin: We have said it before, but it bears repeating: It is a very good thing for the Mac market to have Play Incorporated making Mac products. This company is a powerhouse in the PC world based on the strength of Snappy. After its acquisition of Electric Image in April of 1998, Play had an entire Mac portfolio which it embraced with open arms. Since then, the company has won several Mac awards for Amorphium which has gotten rave reviews and previews.
