Bell Atlantic Come Full Circle: Pushing Mac ADSL Service
Many Observers will know that Bell Atlantic was at one time refusing to allow Mac ADSL service. MacInTouch ran a great report from MacInTouch readers about one person's campaign to get Bell Atlantic to reverse their course. Bell Atlantic not only changed their position on this service, they are now pushing Mac service in their company communications.

In a press release announcing new price reductions in ADSL, the company made the following statement:

Service Options Expanding, Macintosh Platforms Supported

In addition, Bell Atlantic.net recently expanded availability of its Infospeed DSL packages to users of Macintosh and Macintosh-compatible computers, in addition to the iMac.

The Mac Observer Spin: Admittedly this is not the same as Bell Atlantic taking out a full page ad in the Wall Street Journal apologizing for not offering service for the Mac when there was no real reason. But hey, it's a step in the right Direction. MacInTouch and their reader Steve Godun deserve much of the credit for invoking so much public interest in the situation. Hopefully Bell Atlantic will earn a handsome profit from offering Mac users this service so that other DSL providers will see fit to do the same thing.
