[6:00 AM] WWDC Coverage: Sonata And Sherlock II, Including Screenshots!

Our coverage of the Keynote at the WWDC continues with news on Sonata, the next version of the MacOS after MacOS 8.6 (which was just released today) and Sherlock II!

Apple announced that Sonata will be coming out this fall 50 new features, 2 of which were previewed today.

Sherlock II

  • New interface (maximized use of the screen),
  • Set management support!! (with downloadable, automagically updated sets as well as plug-ins),
  • LDAP servers (searched for "Dave Foley" on the internet), search PRICES on different Vendors sites! (name of content, price, and availability!),

Multiple Users

  • Keychain is back in Sonata, built in file-encyption.
  • Voice-verification ("VoicePrint") instead of passwords!!!
  • Sonata Seeding happening this week to developers.

Apple is releasing a MacOS Anthology - $149 gets you every OS release since 7.0 for developers to test with.
