Children's Animation App Gets An Update
The good people of Voget Selbach Enterprises (VSE) have announced an update to Kids Animation Maker. Kids Animation Maker is exactly what its name seems, an animation tool for kids. The update is a maintenance release. According to VSE:

Kids Animation Maker is now available in six different languages: English, German, Japanese, French, Italian and Danish. It is used in many schools all over the world to teach children how animations work.

The update improves the user interface and fixes a minor compatibility issue with Mac OS 8.6.

This is what Gerry Thompson, Teacher at the Uplands Elementary School, says about Kids Animation Maker: "I really believe that this program should be a part of every school district's software titles. Teaching kids to create animation allows them to develop a skill at this age level that can lead to much more rewarding and fulfilling work in the future.

When my students come into the lab, it is KAM that they want to work with. They find this program to be easy to learn and a great way to produce basic animation stories. [...] I really believe that some students in my computer lab will end up in a career as a computer animator because they were able to work with KAM - sort of like the first time a little kid saw a baseball game, he knew he wanted to be a professional ball player. I'm sure Kids Animation Maker will have the same effect."

The update is free to registered owners. Kids Animation Maker is shareware priced at US$18. A site license is priced at only US$99. The program can be downloaded from the company's web site.

The Mac Observer Spin: US$99 is a very small price for a school to have every Mac they own set up with a great tool like this. What a way for children to express their creativity! Making animations is a dream for many children.
