Apple Stock Watch: Apple Loses Ground, Stays Above 46
Apple suffered slight losses today that are probably unrelated to anything more than normal market movements. Apple closed at 46 3/16, down 5/16 or 0.67%.

This came as IBM soared more than 20 points, bringing the DOW along with it to another high, after IBM CEO Louis Gerstner announced that IBM had been the main beneficiary of Internet growth. A statement Wall Street seems to have been somewhat keen on.

Despite the windfall for IBM, most other PC manufacturers all closed down with Gateway 2000, Dell, and Compaq joining Apple in the Red while Hewlett Packard saw some black, closing up 3 3/4 points.
